What the Size LT215/85R16 Means

Tire size plays a major role in how your vehicle rides, handles, and carries weight. The LT215/85R16 designation refers to the tire's width, sidewall profile, and wheel diameter (16 inches). Matching your current size helps preserve ride quality and handling characteristics, while size changes may affect clearance, gearing, and load capacity.

Real-World Performance

The Kelly LT215/85R16 E Edge A/T focuses on dependable traction and durability. Its construction supports consistent contact with the road surface, helping reduce uneven wear while maintaining predictable handling in both dry and wet conditions.

Light Truck (LT) Tire Considerations

As a Light Truck (LT) tire, this Kelly LT215/85R16 E Edge A/T is built with a stronger internal construction to handle higher loads and tougher use. LT tires are commonly used on pickup trucks, vans, and SUVs that tow, haul, or carry heavier cargo. The rating indicates reinforced sidewalls designed to support higher inflation pressures and added durability.

Fitment Guidance

The easiest way to confirm that LT215/85R16 is correct is to look at the tires currently on your vehicle and read the size directly from the sidewall. Also make sure the load index (115) and speed rating (R) meet or exceed what you're running now. If you're unsure, we're happy to help you confirm fitment before ordering.

Care Tips to Maximize Tire Life

Maintain proper air pressure: Check monthly to support even wear and handling.
Rotate tires regularly: Helps extend tread life and improve consistency.
Balance on installation: Reduces vibration and uneven wear.
Address alignment issues early: Misalignment can shorten tire life quickly.
